Microsoft Exchange 2007 Competence @ Cronos

For most businesses today, e-mail is the mission-critical communications tool that allows their people to produce the best results. This greater reliance on e-mail has increased the number of messages sent and received, the variety of work getting done, and even the speed of business itself. Amid this change, employee expectations have also evolved. Today, employees look for rich, efficient access--to e-mail, calendars, attachments, contacts, and more--no matter where they are or what type of device they are using. For IT professionals, delivering a messaging system that addresses these needs must be balanced against other requirements such as security and cost. Enterprise security requirements have become more complex as the demand and use for e-mail has increased. Today, IT departments must contend with e-mail security threats that are wide ranging: continually evolving spam and viruses, noncompliance risks, the vulnerability of e-mail to interception and tampering, in addition to the potential harmful effects of natural and man-made disasters.
While security is clearly a priority, IT is ever cognizant of the need to manage cost. Time, money, and resource constraints are a fact of life as IT is made accountable to do more with less. As a result, IT professionals look for a messaging system that addresses enterprise and employee needs while also being cost-effective to manage. The system must be efficient to deploy, provide a high return on investment, and allow the messaging administrator to be as productive as possible. Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 has been designed specifically to meet the above challenges and address the needs of the different groups who have a stake in the messaging system. The new capabilities of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 deliver the advanced protection your company demands, the anywhere access your people want, and the operational efficiency you, in IT, need.

Cronos / Uptime Experience

As an early technology adopter, Cronos has been involved in the first Exchange 2007 beta programs which are guided by Microsoft Worldwide. Because of the involment in this beta program, our consultants have gained already detailed knowledge on the product. We’d like to mention some of our proven competencies at present:

  • Exchange 2007 Rapid Deployment Program
Microsoft created this program worldwide to give their Gold Partners the possibility to experience a live production migration towards a beta 2 version of Exchange 2007 at one of the company’s selected customers. For Belgium, Cronos was the only one selected to take membership in this program. This first beta 2 migration was composed of a consolidation / migration of an existing Exchange 5.5 organization (17 sites) towards a single Exchange 2007 server in their headquarters. Aside technologies encountered was NetApp Storage, Symantec backup and security solutions,…
  • Microsoft LEAP Program
Mid October, Microsoft Belgium created the LEAP – Love Early Adopters Program – towards 50 of their certified partners, to guide them in preparing the migration of their own in-house IT-infrastructure towards Vista, Office 2007 and Exchange 2007. Cronos / Uptime have been selected as one of two partners to develop an overall project guide by acting as a project manager towards these companies. Our consultants developed a migration / deployment methodology, assessment questionnaire, project presentation towards the certified partners, guidance and coaching possibilities,…
  • Exchange 2007 Discovery Program / POC
To help existing and new customers gain experience on Exchange 2007 technologies, Cronos / Uptime renewed the existing Exchange 2003 Discovery Program for the Exchange 2007 product. During a 3-days session at the customers’ site on temporary hardware (or virtual environment), our consultants explain all features and aspects of Exchange 2007; together with the customer team we discuss how and why to migrate. During a couple of weeks, the customer can ‘play’ with this environment, having fully assistance support from Cronos / Uptime Servicedesk. Finally, a closing meeting is scheduled to pinpoint the next steps, if wanted.
  • Exchange 2007 Discovery Program / POC
Started with the Cronos Summertour 2006, Uptime consultants gave 3 different seminars on indepth aspects of Exchange 2007 product, deployment and security features.
Those seminars will be refreshed and put again on schedule for December and January.
