Microsoft Windows 2000/XP Migration

Project

PIDPA and CRONOS co-sourced the PIDPA Microsoft Windows 2000 migration project. The project contained a migration from Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 towards a Microsoft Windows 2000/XP environment. The migration included both clients and servers.
PIDPA consists of a central office in Antwerp and several WAN sites (all over Antwerp).

Project Tasks

• Designing the internal Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory infrastructure
• Microsoft Windows 2000 Server deployment on DELL Servers
• Microsoft Windows XP Professional deployment. Automated roll-out from Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 towards Microsoft Windows XP using Uptime/Cronos Unattend XP (1.100 PC’s)
• Mainframe integration using Attachmate EXTRA Enterprise
• MSI Software Automation Coaching using WISE technology
• Lab-tests of prototype systems which include the following:
  • Application transition
  • Platform transition
  • Network traffic analysis (in terms of limiting connection times on dial-up routers)
