Situation

Modemakers was using dial-up connections to retrieve the sales results of the local shops and to replicate their mail.

Solution

Modemakers was looking for mail for the communication with the local shops. To lower the cost of the connection we suggested replacing the ISDN dial-up connection with an ADSL connection. This design was completed by adding a higher level of security, using VPN tunnels between the different locations.

Results

The local Shops were equipped with a Cisco 826/827 ADSL router and PIX 501.  The central site was equipped with a Cisco 827 ADSL router and a PIX 506 firewall with VPN 3DES feature license.
