Microsoft Windows 2003 and Windows XP Migration Analyses and Pre-Pilot

Project

The scope of the project covers the Operating System (client and server).
The first step included an Analyses and Pre-Pilot (Proof of Concept). During the project we provided High Level Consultancy and EDP Staff Enforcement.

Project Tasks

Migration project based on the Cronos ADVISE migration method and coaching
- Active Directory Design
- Migration Strategy development from NT 4.0 towards Windows 2003 on the server and Windows XP on the client
- Study of in-house application impacts which include
  - Application inventory
  - Application migration or recreation using the latest software versions
Development of automated client roll-out from Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 towards Microsoft Windows XP using Uptime/Cronos Unattend XP (1.100 PC’s)

- Lab-tests of prototype systems which include the following

Windows 2003 proof of concept
Application transition
Platform transition
Network traffic analysis (in terms of limiting connection time on dial-up routers)
